ROLE SUMMARY
We're hiring a self-motivated Senior Project Manager with experience handling large scale enterprise software projects preferable in the public transportation industry. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible, and follow-through to completion of all project activities. ROLE FOCUS


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. They will lead and manage enterprise software projects from kick-off to go-live (including initiation, scoping, planning and closure with lessons learned) directly into customers.  It is imperative that the hands-on role takes full responsibility for the project delivery by managing customer expectations and internal stakeholders, proactively anticipating issues and managing changes as required.  A key activity for this role will be in defining the project success criteria and then setting and continually leading project expectations to all stakeholders.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Project Delivery


  • Project management and co-ordination of new implementation projects and client upgrades including developing Project Plans and Gantt Charts; Monitoring, updating and reporting on progress internally and to clients; Providing written reports as required and management of project risks and issues.
  • Identify and manage project resources and assign individual responsibilities to project task. 
  • Hold regular status meetings with customers and key stakeholders on resources, project scope, scope changes, additional services and go live activities.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and charge customers appropriately, identify potential issues and risk, and devise contingency plans to get the project back on track 
  • Assure project legal documents are completed and signed.
  • Taking full responsibility of project signoff.

Project Accounting 


  • Accurately forecast revenue, utilization and manage project budget. 
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and monitoring receivables for projects, including following up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Analyze project profitability, revenue, bill rates and utilization. 
  • Track and report team hours and expenses on a monthly basis. 

Manage Client and Key Stakeholder Relationships 


  • Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties. 
  • Set and manage client expectations and manage day-to-day client interaction. 
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. 
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Development, Project Management or IT or an equivalent level of experience in a related role especially Transport sector.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in product implementation, project management in software development, service delivery or similar with a proven track record in both service delivery and people management in an IT services environment; including demonstrated team leadership, motivating individuals and/or teams to excel (in delivery and in quality) whilst ensuring excellent service delivery is provided to all clients.
  • Experience with client engagements and working on technical projects at a high-level.
  • Strong financial and commercial skills and experience dealing with clients of all sizes, including the ability to manage expectations across multiple levels of the customer organization with experience in managing budgets (basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-complete projections) applying governance and developing processes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary project management methodologies with understanding and applying a disciplined process approach to projects and driving continuous value of products and solutions.
  • Understanding of software applications, database organization, and system design.
  • Experience working with government clients would be advantageous.
  • Experience in delivering people mobility related projects for government agencies is a plus.

  • Act positively in a team environment, appreciate each team member's contributions and effectively utilise each team member to his/her fullest potential. 
  • Learn technical solutions and translate customer requirements into functional/technical specifications for enhancements, interfaces, conversions, and reports. 

Travel


  • The position may involve occasional domestic travel within UAE and overseas.

All air travel is economy class.
