Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist the Head of “Group Internal Shari’a Control” in reviewing all bank’s products documents for Retail, Corporate, Trade Finance, Investment and Treasury thereby ensuring that the products are in line with AAOIFI Shari’a Standards, Resolutions and Fatwas of Higher Shari’a Authority (HSA) & Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee (ISSC). Additionally the role requires the job holder to play a Consultant/Advisory role by contributing in the day-to-day business queries that are related to products structures, processes, commercials, etc.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Reviews documents for Investment & Treasury transactions, such as Sukuk, Syndication etc.
  • Reviews the new and existing documentations of Bank’s Investments, Finance, new product structures, processes, SOPs, etc.
  • Contributes in amending redrafting/rephrasing, adding, deleting, etc. as appropriate, to the extent that a document is in line with Sharia percepts in general and AAOIFI Sharia Standards in particular.
  • Always, in the course of work, keeps observing and adhering to all Governance Regulations, Resolutions, Guidance of UAE Central Bank, Higher Sharia Authority, Internal Sharia Supervisory Committee and all Regulatory Bodies in UAE.
  • Contribute in attending day-to-day businesses queries on all bank’s products and services.
  • Contributes in examining and assuring that all Bank’s SOPs, processes, IT and Accounting systems are in line with Sharia Standards and all Governance Regulations of all Regulatory Bodies.    

KEY SKILLS :


  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of AAOIFI standards.
  • Excellent business writing skills with High proficiency of English Language, should be able to review, analyze and redraft contracts and legal documents.
  • Good command over Arabic Language is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of Banking products and services.
  • Fair knowledge about Accounting.
  • Good Organizational and Managerial skills.

Minimum Experience:


  • Minimum years of experience : 5  years.
  • Fields: Sharia Consultation/Advisory Field in Islamic Financial Institutions.  
Language Skills:
  •  Strong in both oral and written : English and Arabic.
