Job Description


Job Purpose


Manage and monitor the ADNOC Mining Function technology strategic synthesis, including developing and implementing a Technology strategy, communicating and marketing ADNOC’s innovation and sustainability strategies internally and externally, identifying new opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage, developing presentations for Technology synthesis, market analyses and new innovation opportunities, and advising management on new business development.


Ensure ADNOC is positioned internally and externally as a thought leader in innovation, including Mining for minerals and elements extraction, identify opportunities to differentiate ADNOC’s products in market, identify long-term market trends and opportunities for new products, identify opportunities for greater competitive advantage, support the business expectations and strategic plans, and maximize the financial return on our innovation investments through effective marketing and identification of new opportunities.


Job Specific Accountabilities


•    Support technology strategic vision and synthetic expression for the ADNOC-Mining Function.
•    Make synthetic reports regarding the Technology strategy with portfolio input and value inputs to be the function lead level and regularly report to the Technology leadership on the health of ADNOC’s Mining Function innovation strategic priorities.
•    Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses for key metrics and special projects.
•    Create strategic Technology dashboards to continuously monitor all efforts to create differentiation and competitive advantage through innovation.
•    Develop and implement an internal and external ADNOC Group Technology strategy to create market differentiation and competitive advantage for ADNOC’s innovation and sustainability initiatives and maximize the return on technology investment.
•    Plan and conduct market research and analysis activities, in collaboration with product marketing teams, including defining research objectives, gathering data from secondary market sources, aggregating, and synthesizing data and drawing meaningful insights.
•    Within the context of the ADNOC’s Mining Function innovation and sustainability strategies, identify a product’s unique differentiation and the market benefits it delivers to define support the innovation strategy.
•    Explore and incorporate new approaches to innovation, including new products and/or services, new business models, licensing agreements and strategic partnerships.
•    In collaboration with cross-functional and external experts, generate innovation ideas then select winning opportunities to pursue for product innovation.
•    Collaborate with Communications to develop a strategy to position ADNOC externally as a thought leader in innovation, including Mining and minerals extraction.

Performance Management



Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function in line with the ADNOC Performance framework.


Reports



Provide inputs to prepare Function MIS and progress reports for VP.


Supervision



Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.


Budgets



Provide input for preparation of the Function’s budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.


Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures


Implement approved Function’s policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with ADNOC and International standards.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.


Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability



Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.


External Communications & Working Relationships


  • Local and international vendors, contractors and third-party service providers, as required.
  • Government organizations and entities, as required

Minimum Qualification


  • Master degree in Engineering Geology/Technology

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills


  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in strategy definition, growth strategy, technology, R&D, innovation, Sustainability, and strategic/digital transformation
  • Ability to form short and long-term strategy
  • Excellent Synthesis ability
  • Ability to work on priorities and form a vision
  • Ability to make good “straight to the point” added value presentations

Professional Certifications


  • Professional certification in Strategic Management (preferable).

Supervision


  • No supervision role but participates in team discussions in order to help the ream meeting the functional objectives.

Budgets


  • Observe the required for the preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
  • Observe the investigation for any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

  • Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with ADNOC and International standards.
