Role Purpose





This role supports the end‑to‑end management of international assignments, ensuring a smooth and effective experience for British Council employees and their families throughout the assignment lifecycle. You will provide operational support from initiation through to completion of assignments, ensuring accurate implementation of mobility policies, timely delivery of pay and allowances, and effective coordination of relocation and associated services.




As a subject matter expert in global mobility, you will support the delivery of a compliant, efficient and customer‑focused mobility service across the organisation’s global footprint. The role involves working closely with assignees, their families, internal stakeholders and external providers to facilitate successful relocation, ensure compliance with mobility policies and processes, and deliver a high‑quality service aligned to business objectives and international workforce needs.






Role Accountabilities





You will use your knowledge of global mobility policies and processes to advise business areas and stakeholders on international assignments, including costings, tax and compliance considerations, and support the full assignment lifecycle from briefing through to completion. You will act as a primary point of contact for assignees, delivering assignment briefings, coordinating services such as immigration, tax, relocation and health support, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring accurate application of allowances, benefits and compensation in line with policy.




You will maintain accurate records and data within mobility systems, support regular reviews of allowances and compensation, track and report on assignment data and compliance requirements, and ensure activities are delivered within agreed timelines. You will also build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, support assignee families through relocation and settlement, and contribute to continuous improvement by ensuring mobility services remain aligned to organisational needs and provide a high‑quality customer experience.






Requirements





Essential:




  • Experience supporting global mobility operations, including tax, social security and immigration compliance.
  • Experience preparing assignment costings, letters and compensation summaries.
  • Experience supporting international assignees through the assignment lifecycle, including briefings and query management.
  • Knowledge of COLA and international assignment allowance methodologies.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a customer‑focused, professional environment.
  • Ability to manage processes, stakeholders and vendor coordination across multiple locations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English is required, as British Council systems and global processes operate in English.


Desirable:




  • Experience working in public sector or NGO environments.

  • Salary: ₹ 613,645 - ₹1,049,107 depending on experience
