Job Summary


We are looking for a motivated and skilled ServiceNow Developer – Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) to support the design, configuration, and enhancement of SPM solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role focuses on Demand Management, Project & Portfolio Management (PPM), Agile Development, Resource Management, and reporting, enabling teams to deliver work aligned with business strategy.


This position is ideal for a developer who has strong ServiceNow fundamentals and wants to grow into enterprise-scale portfolio and agile transformation initiatives. 


Key Responsibilities


ServiceNow SPM Configuration & Development


  • Configure and customize ServiceNow SPM modules including Demand, Project, Agile, Resource, and Financial Management.
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow components such as:
    • Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes
    • UI Policies, Workflows, Flow Designer
  • Support enhancements to portfolio, demand, and project intake processes.

Business & Agile Collaboration


  • Work with business analysts, project managers, and product owners to understand functional requirements.
  • Support Agile and hybrid delivery models within ServiceNow SPM.
  • Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and sprint planning sessions.

Automation & Process Improvement


  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process automation and standardization.
  • Support implementation of best practices for demand prioritization, project tracking, and portfolio visibility.
  • Help improve data quality and reporting accuracy across SPM modules.

Testing, Deployment & Support


  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and release support.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide production support for SPM-related functionality.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, enhancements, and operational processes.

Learning & Platform Growth


  • Stay current with ServiceNow SPM features, upgrades, and product roadmap.
  • Actively develop skills toward advanced SPM capabilities and certifications.
  • Collaborate with senior developers and architects to learn design and scaling patterns.

Future Growth & Career Roadmap


This role is designed to grow into:


  • Senior SPM DeveloperLead DeveloperServiceNow SPM Architect
  • Exposure to:
    • Enterprise Agile Planning (EAP)
    • Value Stream Management
    • Portfolio financial forecasting and investment planning

Qualifications & Skills


Experience & Certifications


  • 2–5 years of experience with ServiceNow development or administration.
  • Hands-on exposure to ServiceNow SPM / PPM modules (project, demand, agile preferred).
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required or in progress.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) – Preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum or ITIL knowledge is a plus.

Technical Skills


  • Working knowledge of:
    • JavaScript within ServiceNow
    • Flow Designer & Workflow Editor
    • Reporting & dashboards
  • Basic understanding of project, portfolio, and agile delivery concepts.
  • Exposure to integrations or data imports is an advantage.

Soft Skills


  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Willingness to learn, take ownership, and grow within the platform.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
