Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee our blown film plastics manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and previous experience in managing production processes for various plastic products, including garbage bags, shopping bags, polyethylene film, and shrink film. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing formulas, production schedules, maintenance activities, employee supervision, productivity improvement initiatives, and costing analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production strategies to meet quality, quantity, and cost targets.
- Manage and optimize production formulas for various plastic products, focusing on cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate with maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues and implement best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely supply of raw materials.
- Prepare production reports, including productivity metrics, variance analysis, and cost breakdowns.
Skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within the blown film plastics industry.
- Proven track record of managing production processes for garbage bags, shopping bags, polyethylene film, and shrink film.
- Strong technical expertise in blown film plastics manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and optimizing production formulas for cost-saving purposes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead teams effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or certification in Production Management or related field.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for plastics manufacturing.
