Job Description

Planning and Management

• Participate in overseeing the completion of projects from the legal perspective including planning, assigning,

• monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.

• Operational Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and maintain court files and memos for all cases handled internally while applying

• knowledge of forms, policies, procedures, state regulations, courts, and administrative procedures to progress

• cases through the legal system

• Provide expert advice to representatives from various departments, and other legal counsel on a variety of

• legal matters such as reviewing business contracts, modifying procedures, ensuring essential procedures are

• implemented and standards of practice are maintained

• Effectively review and advice on the day-to-day legal activities

• Review, correct, and draft contracts, agreements, and internal policies to ensure that they are in compliance

• with all statutory, regulatory and legal requirements

• Periodically verify compliance of all regulations regarding licenses, documentations and other requirements

• established by the law

• Prepare and review contract documents with careful articulation of clauses and terms, which ensures that

companies' interests are legally protected

• Participate in negotiation with third party/contractors to protect DWE’s interests and ensure compliance to

• legal guidelines

• Possess the ability to lead a committee that reviews special or exceptional cases

• Manage the organization’s relationships with external counsels. Serve as a primary liaison to DWE’s external

• counsel

• Maintain updated knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards in the field and related matters of interest

• to the department

• Undertake & supervise internal investigations, as and when requested or required

Stakeholder Management

Internal Interaction

• Participate in the various cross-functional committees/teams for multiple purposes: executive team, audits

etc. to achieve optimal cooperation and seamless quality service

• Liaise with the relevant departments where legal risks have been identified, and ensure an appropriate course

• of action is taken

• Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training, and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to

• employees

External Representation

• Represent the company in the court and prepare research on legal matters as and when requested to cater

• for changes in regulatory processes

• Pursue all cases filed by or against the company, provide advice and co-ordinate with the external lawyers

• and prepare required pleadings and defense plans

• Respond to all legal claims and legal inquires directed to the company & examine legal data to determine

• advisability

Reporting

• Generate and escalate periodic and requested reports ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
