Job Description
A leading engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial and Contracts Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of experience, specifically in landscape projects of medium to large scale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing commercial and contractual aspects of engineering projects, with a focus on landscape projects. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Commercial and Contracts Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of landscape projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze contracts for landscape projects, identifying potential risks and opportunities
- Negotiate and finalize contract terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Manage all commercial aspects of landscape projects, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Coordinate with project managers and landscape architects to ensure compliance with contract requirements and project milestones
- Monitor and track project costs and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost-control measures
- Prepare and submit progress reports, claims, and change orders to clients
- Resolve any contractual disputes and claims in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant local laws and regulations
- Provide guidance and support to junior commercial and contracts staff
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in commercial and contracts management for landscape projects
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial and contracts management, specifically in landscape projects
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and conditions
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
