To conduct the development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems for
specified functional areas and use technical knowledge and experience in IT applications to
plan and apply changes in processes and systems that develop appropriate solutions to the
business. In addition, contributes to the development of long-term strategic goals for IT
applications in conjunction with end users, managers, clients and other stakeholders as well as
training peers and users to develop their technical skills.
Accountability:
Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation
of procedures and controls covering all areas of IT Applications activity so that all
relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality,
cost- effective service to customer.
Provides application development, maintenance, optimization, innovation and
manages 3rd level support for implemented and/or assigned solutions in order to
troubleshoot system problems and ensure all projects are completed, tested and
deployed according to timelines as well as keeping key stakeholders informed.
Dispatches, analyzes, prioritizes, schedules and tackles incoming issue and
problem tickets from end users in accordance with set service level agreements
and escalates where necessary to ensure the resolution of system issues and that
applications fulfill end-user requirements that meet the business needs.
Records, tracks and documents the problem-solving process, including all
successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken to the final
resolution in order to ensure that application processes and functions operate
efficiently throughout the project lifecycle and in adherence to Hikma.
Tests fixes and performs post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been
adequately resolved.
Serves as an expert for existing applications or solutions on a technical level in
order to employ comprehensive knowledge that influences technology and solution
decisions and identifies Pharma industry processes or technologies that could
provide Hikma a competitive advantage.
Performs preventative maintenance, including fine-tuning, health-checks,
monitoring, installation of service packs, hot fixes and so on in order to avoid future
problems and enhance/maintain system applications.
Liaises with internal and external partners and system providers for prompt
rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Researches, evaluates and makes recommendations on technology products and
services in order to respond to new business needs and improve efficiencies
around IT application services.
Participates in the design, development and delivery of software application training
programs and individual classes to train the user on current, new or modified
applications.
Mentors and trains peers in order to enhance their application development skills
and motivate them to work to their best potential.
Provides quality checks in order to help manage department documentation
reviews and approvals.
Meets regularly with IT colleagues and stakeholders to understand and analyze
their processes and needs in order to determine/gather requirements to present
possible solutions or improvements.
Maintains awareness of IT process best practices, technology trends and emerging
technologies to leverage knowledge of applications/systems to drive and scale
Hikma’s operations.
Partners with the technology product and engineering teams to innovate client
facing capabilities and integrate those features into the application roadmap.
Handles all project activities associated with scope, resources, time, procurement,
quality, issues and risks to develop status reports based on results and progress.
Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of
systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’,
improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Prepares departmental reports of IT Applications timely and accurately to meet
company and department requirements, policies and standards.
Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies,
procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
Qualifications, Experience& Skills.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or any equivalent experience.
3-5 years of relevant technical IT application experience PMP, ITIL, and other related
industry standards education and certifications are a plus Working knowledge of all
phases of the software development lifecycle, from functional specification through
coding, testing and the customer support required for a commercial product.
