Ways to become better at upselling:

 

  1. Increase your product knowledge

  2. Instead of fearing rejection, come from a space of curiosity

  3. Present options – Good vs. Better

  4. Remember to suggest “one more thing” that would help your customer get the most value from their purchase

  5. Practice cross-selling

 

To upsell a client, you as a sales person, must ask the right questions to identify the needs and wants of the client. As a sales person, you must upsell effectively by relating to the client the benefits of the products your presenting and over coming an objections. The biggest mistakes you can make are not asking the right questions, not identifying the wants or needs and listening to key indicators.
