I don't know.  But I write a lot about the basic management skills here and, at the risk of immodesty, you could do worse than read through my posts.

The new advice I give to new managers is always, think about the managers you had in the past.  Copy the good bits, and make sure you don't do the bad things.   Always be thoughtful.

'The one minute manager' written by Kenneth H. Blanchard.  It only takes one hour to read and has advice that people have been taking for years.  It has been a best seller in the US. since it came out.  Good Luck with your new position!

Congrats on your new role!

These3 are the simplest, easiest to read "New Manager" books:

  • Minute Manager - Kenneth H. Blanchard
  • Games People Play - Eric Berne
  • Whale Done - Kenneth H. Blanchard
