HR should be free from management influence while recruiting or hiring candidates, so that HR can stay completely transparent and fair. No decisions regarding recruitment and selection of candidates should be influenced by management. But as long as HR operations and functions are concerned, management should always monitor and check the HR operations to keep the HR functions complaint and timely.

Management should set guidelines, requirements, and standard for hr to follow! After that management shouldn't be influecing who to hire? They should simply stick to the script, and make sure HR do their job. Other wise management will be sparking the flame that will hurt the organisation.

Management is the Head of the Organization and has to a have a Mission, Vision, and Values in placed reflected in a concrete plan and Policies & Procedures.  A clear objective and target for the growth of the Organization and all Department have to work with the same objective.

If you meant,  influence in term of a personal interest objective,  then Yes,  HR and any other Departments should not be influenced in their decision makings and path.

Thanks to invite.

Here I support to the answer by Mr. Magaji.

For me No, This is the best management profile which fit every where. If the HR is not influence then they might be dominant or steady or conscientiousness which have more negative signs. Thanks

I fully agree with Mr. Magaji's excellent submission. Thanx for the invitation

Well, no department is free from management influence so HR will also not remain free from it.

But All department should have certain autonomy , degree of autonomy can vary.

Degree of influence and autonomy should not overlap each other and both HR as well as management should take care of that fine line.
