Interviews are limited to what candidates deem that you should hear. We see posts like "what to say and what not to say in a job interview" everywhere on the web. Many job seekers learn these by heart. Good HHRR managers, though, are able to cut through pretensions, exaggerations and over-esteem. Even then, the best test will be to present the candidates with an old, solved problem and challenge them to advance solutions justifying each one of the proposed steps. This simple exercise will tell you more about them than all the chat and exchange.

I took many bad decisions based on interviews and had to let go the candidates after one week of their hiring, so the answer is no

it takes some candidates a week to be discovered and others a bit over 3 months, depending on many factors, especially attitude, Teamwork and ability to execute

Job interviews are important because they enable the employer identify professional strengs and weaknesses, they also enable one to clarify the career goals. Its an effective way to select and evaluate because a candidate since he has to proof that what he has written in his curriculum vitae matches what you are interviewing him about.

But its not used for determinig ones destiny since an individuals hard work and focus on his carrer and goals is what will determine his destiny in my opinion.

Thanks for invitation,

I do believe that job interview is a part of an effective process in order to select and evaluate the candidate, in addition to his CV, as well as his actual past experience, his educational and professional certificates, training courses achieved during his career, recommendations from his previous management, also his own personal skills.

And the important issue is to compare all of these items, with the detailed job description that are actually required.
