Its a way to communicate about your product and services, giving knowledge on its value, benefits to the customer.
Creating a need if there is no need as such, if there is need then meeting the demand by supply chain so everything starts with marketing , to make your product or service visible and available to everyone.
Purpose - to Sell the product/service to market (targeted customers)
Place to do economic activities legaly...
"Consumers", because it's all about the consumer in the end.

Marketing satisfies these needs and wants through exchange processes and building long term relationships. Marketing can be looked at as an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, delivering and communicating value to customers, and managing customer relationships in ways that also benefit the organization and its shareholders. Marketing is the science of choosing target markets through market analysis and market segmentation, as well as understanding consumer buying behavior and providing superior customer value.
well u allready got answer.. and i think its not one word defination.. according to my side "consumer need and want"... wel i am trying to short this defination..
