I dont see a contradiction here. Your view of yourself is important to you while others' views about you might be importnat to others as will as your self.
In some cases experts might be in a better position to show you things about yourself in a way that you didn't perceive.
You are perfectly right Rajinikant but sometime to strengthen our profile, we need recommendations or feedback from related professional. I agree with your statement that we do better judgment about self but in professional and personal there are several stages where we need other suggestion or recommendation.
Like to share a personal example, when I had started presentation during university, at initial level, I though I gave my best short but thanks to our group members who suggest me to use the body movement to supplement my style and this was a plus point in my performance.
It’s better to ask from subject expert for improvement and there is no harm in it.
