I try to gauge the personality style and try to speak their language. Body language, the questions asked or results by the individual will give an indication of whether I got the message across.

I observe body language as my primary investigation, the eye moments, the hand signs, the body posture everything explains what they want to express clearly ! even though people speak something else.
