    Job Description

    Organize, control and monitor the activities of Housekeeping staff on a shift in relation to overall cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas and offices ensuring continuous service and quality standards laid down by the Housekeeping Manager/Executive Housekeeper as per the hotels standards.

    Clock in wearing uniform. Secure working sheets for floors assigned for that day.
    Ensuring the required standard of cleanliness and maintenance of all guest rooms, floor corridors, linen stores, staircases, public and back of the house areas is maintained at all times.
    Plan, organize and brief housekeeping staff on the shift and co-ordinate activities ensuring highest standards of hygiene are maintained. Allocate staff to various areas on the shift in order to ensure maximum efficiency of performance and optimum utilization of resources.
    Inspect all vacant rooms, not sold in the previous night and be sure they are ready to be sold for next guest to occupy. If tidiness or cleaning required, then the room attendants to be informed to do the needful.Report any linen discrepancies to Linen Room.
    Report all check-outs to Housekeeping attendants or any other information such as ASAP rooms or early make-ups.
    Supervising the room attendants on a daily basis and communicate effectively with the evening Shift leader/ supervisor in order to ensure the smooth running of the department. Work closely with other housekeeping Shift Leader/Supervisors, laundry and front office personnel, to ensure all tasks are completed effectively, on time and to the required standards
    Maintaining the specified linen, cleaning materials, and guest supplies stock on designated blocks at all times, ensuring that linen is in good condition, correctly pressed and stain free
    Inspection of all vacant rooms to ensure all cleaning and maintenance duties have been completed to the required standards before returning them to reception for release. Inspect all occupied rooms after servicing to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance duties have been completed to the required standards and that guests personal items have been cleaned as per the hotels policy.
    Ensuring that lost property is immediately deposited to the Housekeeping office and registered in the logbook and entered into the Property Management System in order for the front office and or reception to accurately handle any enquiries.
    Report, record and follow up maintenance faults on all designated blocks to ensure that occupied and released rooms are fully cleaned and functional; including recommending repairs and replacements to the Housekeeping Manager/ Executive Housekeeper.
    Resolve any unobtrusive manner, complaints from guests with regard to housekeeping issues and to foresee any problems on the future shift and highlight the same to the Housekeeping Manager / Executive Housekeeper
    Assisting the training of the new staff and re-training of the existing staff in order to maintain the required standards.



    · Able to speak and read English, having an experience in similar position for at least 12 months with a great Interpersonal skills and good level of physical fitness.

    Education or Certification

    · Higher level of Education (Graduate)

    · Good level of English essential

    · Ability to interact with different cultures

    · Able to work under pressure at times

    · Computer literate ( Excel, Word, Outlook & OPERA)

    · Multi tasking in efficient manner
