Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring component availability, cost efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance through the effective management of component planning, pooling, repair and overhaul, exchange, leasing, procurement, supplier oversight, and warranty recovery activities. Develops and executes component support strategies, manages budgets, contracts, and inventory investments, while minimizing operational disruptions and "Aircraft on Ground" risks. Oversees vendor performance, component data integrity, reporting, and team effectiveness to support safe, efficient, and reliable fleet operations.



Key Result Responsibilities
  • Define, manage, and continuously optimize the rotable and repairable component pool, including owned inventory, leased assets, and third-party pooling agreements, ensuring adequate availability to support operational and maintenance needs while balancing investment and cost efficiency.
  • Analyse fleet size, utilization patterns, reliability trends, consumption rates, and operational risks to determine optimal pool sizing, improve availability, and minimize shortages, excess stock, and maintenance disruptions.
  • Manage component exchange and pooling programs, including ACMI and wet lease arrangements, while implementing proactive strategies to mitigate Aircraft on Ground (AOG) risks, reduce downtime, and ensure timely network-wide support.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with approved MRO providers for component repair and overhaul, ensuring cost-effective delivery, contractual compliance, and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize repair performance by tracking Turn-Around Time (TAT) against contracts and benchmarks, identifying delays, applying corrective actions, and ensuring timely availability.
  • Review and authorize repair orders, evaluate Beyond Economic Repair (BER) cases, and oversee scrap disposition decisions through technical and commercial assessment to ensure cost efficiency and value recovery.
  • Ensure all repair, overhaul, and release activities comply with regulatory and airworthiness standards, including GCAA, EASA, Airbus, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Lead procurement of rotable, repairable, and expendable components with Supply Chain, ensuring availability, cost efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Manage PMA and DER parts usage, ensuring regulatory, airworthiness, and reliability compliance.
  • Negotiate and manage long-term support agreements, including supply contracts, pooling, and Power-by-the-Hour (PBH) programs to optimize cost and availability.
  • Monitor supplier performance using TAT, quality, warranty recovery, and cost metrics, driving continuous improvement and reliability.
  • Liaise with OEMs, repair vendors, and Warranty teams to maximize recoveries and resolve component issues promptly.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers and MRO partners to strengthen capability and competitiveness.
  • Own and manage the components budget, tracking spend vs forecast and identifying risks and variances.
  • Drive cost reduction through pooling optimization, reduced cannibalization, and improved warranty recovery while maintaining availability.
  • Report on spend, budget performance, cost trends, and savings to support decision-making.
  • Ensure full traceability and certification of components with valid airworthiness documentation, including EASA Form 1 and FAA 8130.
  • Maintain compliance with GCAA regulations and company procedures under MOE and CAME, ensuring airworthiness adherence.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation, records, and compliance evidence.
  • Manage component data in ERP/MRO systems (e.g., AMOS, Oracle), ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor tracking, shelf life, and overhaul due dates to support compliance and readiness.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for visibility into inventory, performance, and key metrics.
  • Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
  • Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
  • Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
  • A degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, or Supply Chain.
  • Deep familiarity with Airbus A320FAM components preferred.Knowledge of GCAA/EASA regulations on component certification and Traceability.
  • Proficiency in aviation MRO systems (AMOS, Ramco, or equivalent)
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel) and ERP/maintenance systems.
  • Awareness of internal policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to navigate across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Airworthiness.
  • Analytical thinking (reliability data, demand forecasting).
  • Fluent in English Language.

Work Experience
  • With a minimum of 8+ years in airline materials/components or MRO environment. With 3 years’ experience in management role, preferably in a multi-hub, multi airline environment.
  • Experience managing MRO vendor contracts and PBH agreements.
