Unit: Network System
FUNCTION: Maintains computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance.
PRIMARY TASKS:
1. Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems.
2. Install and maintain network hardware and software.
3. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
4. Evaluate and modify system's performance.
5. Determine network and system requirements.
6. Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
7. Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
8. Design and deploy networks.
• Perform network address assignment.
9. Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
10. Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
11. Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
12. Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
13. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
14. Follow the University rules and regulations.
15. Perform other related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers is necessary.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Wireless Controllers and Access Points is preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with users is necessary.
• Experience or equivalent certifications demonstrating proficiency supporting Microsoft products, including Windows and Office is required.
• CCNA certification is necessary.
• Medium level of English Language proficiency.
• Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised, and as a member of a team.
