Job Description

We are looking for an Area Manager who will be responsible for leading and directing the outlets within a specific area and provide required guidance and support as well as ensuring their compliance with the health and safety regulations and standards in order to increase sales revenue, customer’s base and market share, and achieve the targeted results and expansion plans.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing the annual budget of the assigned outlets and ensure all employees are working within the assigned budget by setting the required targets and responsibilities.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the assigned outlets on regular basis (Weekly, monthly and quarterly) through reviewing different reports including: Daily sales activity, discounts …etc. to ensure adherence to the set budgets, meet sales targets and achieve targeted financial results.
  • Ensure that cash management activities across all the assigned outlets are performed in compliance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Consolidate the assigned outlets combined expenses plan and perform necessary evaluation of the same to ensure driving efficient and profitable operations in line with the set budget and financial targets.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the Confectioneries Department’s policies and processes in order to achieve the desired objectives.
  • Communicate each brand-specific requirements (Systems, procedures, programs, standards, etc.) to the concerned personnel.
  • Work with the assigned outlet managers to identify different market opportunities in an effort to increase customer base and market share.
  • Provide the assigned outlets Managers with the required guidance to develop extraordinary leaders that work towards achieving the brands growth and expansion targets.
  • Work with the assigned Outlets Managers to identify different market opportunities and provide them with the required guidance to improve the quality of service provided to customers thus increasing customers base and market share.
  • Conduct routine visits to the assigned Outlets to assess the quality of food, beverages and services provided, and evaluate compliance of different operations with the set standards and each brand’s requirements.
  • Conduct periodical visits to competitors' Confectioneries to identify the latest trends within the assigned market and communicate observations to the Direct Manager.
  • Ensure that all outlets appearances and equipment are maintained in accordance with the brand’s standards or franchise requirements (Franchised brands).
  • Oversee the sales performance by comparing the actual sales versus the weekly targets, previous years and projections, prepare sales analysis briefs, present the same to the Direct Manager and discuss the necessary corrective actions.
  • Communicate any deficiencies with the Concerned Outlet Manager and Staff, identify the required corrective actions and oversee the implementation of the same to ensure overcoming deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Communicate violations (Policy, standards, quality …etc. violations) to the Direct Manager and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with other concerned stakeholders across to facilitate the establishment of new Confectioneries (e.g. ensuring the availability of the required resources) in line with overall strategy.
  • Monitor the collaboration between Confectioneries and other concerned division/department (e.g. Marketing & Business Development Division) to ensure launching of new items/dishes, introducing special events, initiating promotional activities, etc. on time as per the set plans to attract new customers and stimulate sales.
  • Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
  • Oversee and check adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) at all times by all assigned Outlets employees, if applicable.
  • Acquire full and proper understanding of the government health or food service regulations.
  • Ensure maintaining the beverages and food preparation areas orderly clean and arranged neatly across all assigned outlets.
  • Review customers’ feedback for each of the assigned outlets and utilize the same to identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations accordingly.
  • Investigate, manage inputs and recommend action to be taken when there are weaknesses in internal controls, compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Identify the manpower requirements for the Confectioneries and coordinate with the HR & Administration Departments regarding the recruitment activities to ensure hiring a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisal for subordinates and recommend salary increments and promotions accordingly.
  • Identify the training needs of employees and ensure training & development initiatives are successfully delivered and provide feedback to the Direct Manager.
  • Delegate responsibilities and assign tasks to subordinates to facilitate performing different tasks and work-related activities.
  • Manage subordinates' attendance and leaves to ensure complying with attendance policy, as well as the availability of proper replacement during subordinates' leaves.
  • Prepare reports covering the main activities performed by the Confectioneries and submit the same to the Direct Manager.
