JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager (T&D and OD)
DEPARTMENT: Training & Development
REPORTS TO: Vice President HR
PURPOSE:
An Assistant Manager (T&D and OD) ensures the smooth execution of training and organizational development initiatives within a company. Assistant Manager (T&D and OD) blends technical knowledge with managerial skills to oversee the implementation of training programs and organizational development strategies. Acting as a key point of contact, Assistant Manager facilitates communication between various stakeholders involved in training and development efforts. Assistant Manager (T&D and OD) serves as intermediary, bridging the gap between organizational goals and the needs of employees undergoing training. Additionally, Assistant Manager (T&D and OD) is responsible for providing regular progress updates and reports to keep relevant parties informed and engaged in the process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement training and development programs that align with the Company’s People Strategy through organizational needs analysis and management consultation.
- Design and implement learning strategies and develop employees’ skills and knowledge within the organization.
- Design and deliver training programs, assess development needs, and track learning effectiveness.
- Play a crucial role in helping individuals enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Review and recommend use of vendor-based materials or organizational development and system improvement projects.
- Work with key stakeholders to evaluate skill gaps and how to effectively close the gaps.
- Collaborate with employees and managers to support career development plans.
- Schedule all training events – identifies facilities, speakers, and participants.
- Perform work group facilitation and mediation, coordinate strategic planning sessions and retreats.
- Prepare annual budget and manage relationships with vendors and consultants. Track budgets and negotiate contracts.
- Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training, etc.).
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
- Help managers develop their team members through career pathing and succession planning.
QAULIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least bachelor's degree in BSc/BBA Business, Psychology or a related field.
- 3+ years experience in L&D and OD domains in IT industry is a must.
- Latest knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
- Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
- Ability to design, develop, and deliver training programs for employees working in a global arena.
- Experience in designing e-learning courses and managing budgets is a plus.
