Job Description

Role Objective 

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the integration of all activities performed at QIMC;
  • Designing new methods to continuously improve operational processes and maintain Quality Assurance Standards at all times;
  • Determining quality requirements and ensuring the implementation of procedures for maintaining high standards of quality in accordance with QIMC’s objectives; and
  • Controlling and setting the direction for implementing policies and achieving objectives.


Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:


OPERATIONAL

  • Ensure Quality Assurance of all operations, and projects performed at QIMC and its subsidiaries by identifying, planning and implementing Quality Management Standards;
  • Set up Quality Management Standards based on leading practices (ISO 9000 and 9001) and in coordination with the business units;
  • Manage QIMC’s Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement initiatives, and monitor activities in accordance with quality assurance methodology; 
  • Monitor business performance in accordance with the overall Quality Assurance Framework of QIMC;
  • Utilize Quality Assurance tools to benchmark the process and measure possible improvements and solutions against set benchmarks, as well as to ensure that QIMC achieves sustained profit and economic stability;
  • Review related processes and identify process weaknesses, bottlenecks and potential areas of errors across the Company in coordination with all business entities, and redesign processes in conjunction with Corporate Planning and Investments employees to reduce chances of reoccurring mistakes;
  • Determine what changes to the process would be beneficial to its improvement by basing such changes on experience, scatter diagrams and control charts. Coordinate with all business entities of the Corporate Planning and Investments Department for implementing suggested changes;
  • Ensure that IT vendors and all third-party service providers are maintaining the Quality Assurance Standards of their services as per authorized parameters and licensing conditions in coordination with IT Quality Assurance;
  • Maintain regular contact with QIMC Project Managers, Sector Specialists and project teams and coordinators to ensure full integration and fit of Quality Assurance goals and objectives with QIMC goals and objectives;
  • Ensure that previously identified process issues are followed up and that proper action is being taken to resolve any issues;
  • Measure process efficiency and compare results to past efficiency reports and set methods to overcome short-comings;
  • Achieve and assure quality through the adoption of a cost-effective quality control system and through external inspections and audits;
  • Carry out work related to various studies on Quality Assurance, as and when required;
  • Oversee the implementation of updated procedures and ensure that QIMC employees adhere to the updated procedures;
  • Coordinate with all relevant business units within QIMC for discussion on matters pertaining to organizational development and process improvement;
  • Discuss quality assurance reports with relevant management employees and decide on further actions to be taken to resolve any process performance issues;
  • Assist and manage the process of providing input for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for test criteria & cases for quality measurement purposes and monitor their achievements on regular basis;
  • Coordinate with the Company’s internal/ external auditors and the compliance function to review past reports issued, deficiencies highlighted by the above-mentioned functions, and parties involved which can be used as a basis to determine the plan for each project or change request;
  • Ensure compliance with all QA policies/ procedures which define the scope of the QA reviews and the reporting requirements, amongst other matters, and which are in compliance with applicable guidelines/ regulations;
  • Take responsibility for improving processes during the conduct of QA tasks in order to keep the operating costs as low as possible/ improve efficiency of operations and ensure that any such changes are communicated to the Director of Corporate Planning and Investments;
  • Ensure quality and consistency across the Company in the application and measurements of operation activities;
  • Possess a superior understanding of QA tools, techniques and methods; and
  • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
