Job Description

As a GIS Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data to support various projects and initiatives. You will play a key role in collecting, organizing, and interpreting data to create maps, charts, and reports. Your expertise in GIS software and tools will be essential in providing accurate and reliable information for decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and analyze geospatial data using various sources such as satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and GPS data.
  2. Create and update maps, charts, and reports using GIS software.
  3. Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  4. Collaborate with team members to identify and address spatial analysis needs.
  5. Develop and implement GIS workflows and protocols to streamline data management and analysis.
  6. Provide technical support and training to users of GIS software and tools.
  7. Stay up-to-date with advancements in GIS technology and industry trends.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into decision-making processes.
  9. Conduct quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  10. Prepare and present GIS analysis findings to stakeholders.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in GIS data management and analysis.
  3. Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
  4. Strong knowledge of spatial analysis techniques and tools.
  5. Experience in data collection and interpretation using remote sensing and GPS technologies.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  9. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  10. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.

Skills
