Job Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES

  Scope the normal/major maintenance work orders to identify the parts, tools, skills, time and cost to complete maintenance activities.  Review of drawings, specifications, etc., to determine scope of work, required content of estimate, and prepare time and cost estimates, planning preparing bids, and determining whether the work is classified as capital or non-capital. Prepare detailed lists of planned work and discuss with Maintenance Leads and the Maintenance Scheduler. Review the master schedule and backlog with Production, Maintenance Leads and the Maintenance scheduler to ensure that all scheduled work is planned and materials & equipment are available for work execution. Recommend work force needs for planned activities. Track costs and coordinates utilization of equipment & materials. Work with the Maintenance Scheduler and Maintenance Leads to ensure that 100% of maintenance resources are utilized to achieve the highest degree of equipment effectiveness safely & at the lowest sustainable cost of maintenance.  Responsible for the coordination of all Contractor work activities throughout the area of responsibilities.  This includes:

  • Being the Maintenance SPOC for all contractor work.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work and discuss with Contractors (which includes a field walk-through) in order to gather work proposals.
  • Review plant safety requirements with all contractors as well as their safety plan prior to allowing them to work. 
  • Coordinate all contractor’s activities through the Maintenance Supervisors and Leaders.
  • Issue all Purchase Orders needed that concerns Maintenance Contractors.


4.    Responsible for the coordination of Minor outages and Campaigns.  These activities include:

  • Estimate manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
  • Prepare initial work lists for all minor shutdowns.
  • Develop standard job plans for minor shutdown maintenance work, which includes equipment, materials, labor, special safety/environmental concerns, special tools and any other special or additional instruction.
  • Responsible for coordinating walk-throughs on jobs for shutdowns to ensure scope is understood by all parties.


5.  Develop standard job plans for non-routine maintenance work, which includes equipment, material, labor, special safety/environmental concerns, special tools, etc.


6.  Develop all Maintenance Capital Expenditures (CE’s).  This includes:

  • Assist in the project scope development.
  • Prepare a detailed project budget, which includes all labor, material, equipment, & outside services needed.
  • Calculate the financial justification for the project.
  • Determine asset disposal if required.
