We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D department and lead the design and manufacturing of various machines for automation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, and overseeing the production of innovative machines tailored to meet the specific needs of our automation initiatives. This role requires a combination of strong mechanical engineering expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in machine design and manufacturing processes.
A machine design engineer with significant experience in designing forklifts or earth-moving equipment, having worked in the design department of a factory manufacturing such machinery, and demonstrating a proven track record of delivering and testing successful designs for any of the mentioned machinery types.
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
2. Conceptualize and develop mechanical designs for automation machines, including detailed drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM).
3. Utilize software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) to create 3D models and technical drawings of machine components and assemblies.
4. Designing Kinematic and Dynamic Mechanical Systems.
5. Perform structural analysis, stress testing (statics & dynamics), and failure analysis to assess the integrity and performance of mechanical systems.
6. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
7. Prototype and test machine designs to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
8. Optimize machine designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and scalability.
9. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components required for manufacturing.
10. Oversee the manufacturing process, including assembly, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure adherence to design specifications and project timelines.
11. Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams during the production phase.
12. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in machine design and automation.
