All of a sudden your Manager/Project Manager was resigned, as a staff how you will support to get new PM on-board to make sure the progress is same?

What do you think in which areas he needs support to make the same level of project progress?  New PM/Manager is new to the organization.

1- Project scope, schedule and budget.

2- Performance Report and earned value analysis are a good start, It should give a clear idea about the work done and how it was done.

3- Risk Register, to know what was the risks that was controlled and what is to be monitored

I would have an extensive conversation with him and go through our job plan. I would invite him or her to the rig to see our operations in action so they would have a better understanding.

It happens.. but it all depends upon in which position you are? If you are near to hierarchy and senior enough to lead the Team, then you must take the initiative and give the confidence that you can replance the position under the supervision of seniors to complete the project. It would be good opportunity for career elevation and confidence growth.

As a subordinate I always followup my Managers work of responsibility, initiative, behavior, skill of work etc. So, when a manager already resigned I will overcome the gap of problem.
