Job Description

Business Developer Intermodal




Managing the intermodal activities within the DRO scope, main mission will be to drive the Carrier Haulage development on 3 key pillars (Procurement, Operations & Commercial). The Regional Intermodal & Business Developer is a key contributor to the inland strategy in the region.


MISSIONS


Procurement


Be in close contact with DRO and HO Intermodal Procurement teams


Manage quarterly selling rates reviews with local Intermodal teams and DRO/HO Intermodal & Procurement teams


Be part of post tender negotiations with DRO Procurement team and promote savings


Manage the pricing strategy in accordance with HO expectations


Access performance from service providers and report inconsistencies if any


In coordination with DRO Procurement, attribute allocation percentage per transporter within the several corridors


Operations


Ensuring operational efficiency on all corridors (delays and port storage mitigation)


Disseminating operational best practices


Reviewing and/or implementation of SOPs in accordance with the Group’s standard procedures


Ensure that all extra costs are fully recovered either from customer or the supplier depending on the case


Commercial


Ensure that the Regional Intermodal Budget is met (Import and Export)


Dedicate specific attention to the strategic countries


Commercial animation/coordination within the region (weekly meeting, Webinar, seminar…)


Produce statistics and commercial analysis


Intermodal Margin monitoring


Market Intelligence activities (benchmarking, networking etc.)


Promote Carrier Haulage conversion and development of FOB accounts


Promote Intermodal commercial developments in the region (new products, services, and opportunities etc.)


This position may involve occasional travel as needed by the company


QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND


Higher Education/Postgraduate degree would be preferred


Proven business management experience, commercial mindset Previous experience in Intermodal and/or Logistics would be preferred


Strong communication skills


Good management and interpersonal skills


Strong analytical skills and must be numeric as strategic planning and running budgets are a daily element of this position


Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
