Job Description

The “Architecture Synergies & Enablement Programme” for 2024 within the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), encompasses six interlinked projects to fortify our digital infrastructure, nurturing a conducive environment for developers and engineers.


Simplified Governance: - Enhancing decision-making and strategic alignment through automation and authoritative data integrations, minimizing risks, and extending the capabilities laid down by the Digital Governance Portal.


Developer Collaboration Hub: Offering a centralized platform to lessen information overload, enhance developer agility, and decrease compliance and cyber risks, thus fostering a superior developer experience and hastening time to market.


Design Evaluation Mechanism: - Streamlining design submission and evaluation to accelerate risk-based approvals and ensure alignment with technological frameworks, enriching the overall developer and engineer journey.


Architectural Pattern Enhancement: - Advancing architectural patterns to encapsulate and integrate best practices and standards, promoting developer efficiency and improved risk management.


Technical Documentation Repository: Creating a centralized, searchable repository for key technical documents to expedite audit and regulatory responses, augmenting governance, and compliance.


AI Innovation: - Carving out a sandbox environment for exploring AI capabilities, enabling approved initiatives to access AI and Machine Learning capabilities from industry partners, laying the groundwork for future AI-driven governance and innovative solutions.


Role


As a Project Manager in the Transformation Programme under the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) function, you hold a critical position in steering one or more projects towards achieving the strategic objectives of the LSEG. Your leadership and management skills will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of project delivery, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaborative engagement among project teams and stakeholders.


Objectives


  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.


  • Establish, uphold, and continuously improve robust project governance frameworks and controls to ensure alignment with organizational and CTO function objectives.


  • Foster collaborative and transparent relationships among project stakeholders, teams, and third-party vendors, promoting a culture of shared objectives and open communication.


Responsibilities


  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects within the CTO’s Transformation Programme, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and adherence to established methodologies and standards.


  • Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to established controls, rigorous risk, and issue management, and accurate financial and progress reporting.


  • Oversee project teams, including Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and third-party vendors, ensuring effective delegation, coordination, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.


  • Monitor and control project performance, scope, and resources, ensuring timely identification and resolution of deviations from the plan.


  • Facilitate effective communication and reporting between project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.


  • Support the Programme Manager/Portfolio PMO in portfolio planning, governance, and reporting, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.


Skills & Experience


  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and support project teams towards successful delivery.


  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and external vendors.


  • Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a specific focus on Agile and Waterfall methodologies.


  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, preferably within a technology-focused and transformation-driven environment.


  • Strong experience in financial reporting, analysis, and budget management.


  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to engage, communicate, and manage expectations across various levels of the organization.


  • Proficient in Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as Clarity


  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is desirable, along with a strong understanding of technology functions and their impact on business operations.
