Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Environmental Manager oversees the processes that seek to control environmental entities in orientation to a plan or idea. This position entails a wide remit and will review the whole operation, carrying out environmental audits and assessments, identifying and resolving environmental problems and ensuring necessary changes are implemented. This position lead in the review of project requirements, development and aligning a program to meet these requirements while maintaining compliance with organizational and legal standards, analysis of performance, and drive continual improvement.

Job Responsibilities 1

Manages and oversees the environmental performance of the organization including developing, leading , & monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development.

Keeps abreast of international developments that can contribute to environmental best practices.

Provides professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of environmental programs. Develops systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Manages the implementation of environmental policies and practices.Implements all the policies, procedures, and norms as per the organization’s set of system.

Monitors all the adopted practices of the organization pertaining to in-built environmental practices all across the project.

Generates and maintains, records, and documents and analyze reports.

Monitors and regulates company's compliance with guidelines set forth by the organization, complying with all the applicable international and local norms as per the applicability.

Develops and instigate environmental strategies and action plans that ensure corporate sustainable development.

Manages all the different environmental strategies that will be developed and implemented so that the organization’s long-term vision for sustainability can be achieved.

Ensures that the implication of best environmental practices will be adopted to improve the set system of the organization in an effective way. Takes the lead on sustainable procurement for all goods and services.

Managing the minimization of environmental aspects by adopting the best practices for enhancing positive environmental impact.

Job Responsibilities 2

Develops and conducts presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action or provide information and instruction. Fosters a stimulating, accepting learning environment.

Sets priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

Provides technical advice on environmental matters on different processes including tendering, design, procurement, warehousing & storage, operation, waste disposal including information on end-of-life disposal of waste.

Ensures that current all work sites objectives, targets, action planning, and methodology are aligned with the corporate strategic objectives.

Ensures that the management system is up to date with the latest regulations, laws, and other legal requirements.

Lead the investigation of significant environmental occurrences and legal sanctions.

Promotes delivery of organizational environmental sustainability commitment through adaptation of recognized concepts such as green concept,

Oversees compliance to environmental and sustainability requirements i.e.,

project operation environmental & associated permit,

proactively reviews the main environmental requirements of projects and tailor a specific practical program to achieve the required targets
