Job Description

Marketing Specialist


American International University


We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has experience in the local marketing industry. This person should have knowledge in advertising, both physical and digital, as well as the ability to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously. The person will work with other team members, social media officers and other specialists, to plan, capture, curate and publish content relating to the activities of the university as well as outreach beyond on campus events.


The individual must be bilingual with a keen eye for design, with a willingness to be trained for further assignments. The individual must have strong written English skills to allow them to write articles for online blogs and newspapers. The ability to translate is highly valued.


Job Descriptions:


  1. Evaluate target demographics, appropriate distribution channels, and marketing channels
  2. Analyze marketing metrics to gauge and identify cause and effect relationships
  3. Collaborate with the marketing department to develop appropriate strategies
  4. Use information from statistics, marketing experts, and other industry professionals to conduct secondary research
  5. Become familiar with research methodologies, including standard computer programs, and increase understanding of advanced statistical analysis
  6. Meet with clients regularly to determine marketing and promotional goals

Social Media Skills:


  1. Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
  2. Define social media KPIs
  3. Manage and oversee social media content
  4. Measure the success of every social media campaign
  5. Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  6. Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing
  7. Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  8. Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network

Requirement:


  1. 3 – 5 years of experience in local marketing industry.
  2. Strategist using social media for brand awareness and impressions
  3. Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
  4. Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  5. Good understanding of social media KPIs
  6. Familiarity with web design
  7. Excellent multitasking skills
  8. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  9. Team player
  10. Good time-management skills
  11. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Educational Qualification:


  1. Bachelor’s degree required; higher education field preferred
  2. Two to three year’s experience in the same field
  3. Proficiency in working with personal computers, related hardware/software, webpage maintenance, and development
  4. Experience with database development and management.
  5. Experience designing and presenting career resources, workshops, and other career-related services
